Get Up & Go!

Get Up & Go balance exercise classes are for those at risk of falls, and those that want to improve mobility and confidence. The sessions consist of a minimum of a 24 weeks programming and exercise prescription, delivered by OTAGO qualified exercise professionals.

Get Up & Go sessions are evidence based activity for for those that need support and development with core strength and balance. The research behind the OTAGO programme is proven to:

  • Reduce falls.

  • Reduce Injury due to falls.

  • Improve balance and strength.

  • Improve the ability to complete everyday tasks.

  • Increase stamina.

  • Increase mood.

  • Improve confidence and independence. 

The Joint Strategic Needs Assessment for Northamptonshire, published in January 2020, established that nearly 47,000 older people (65+) are at risk of having a fall each year in Northamptonshire. 

 

Working with Northamptonshire Sport, we want to reduce the number of those at risk of falls in North Northamptonshire by delivering fun strength based exercise classes where you can meet new people and after, catch up with friends over a cup of tea!
